Description
What a colour was my first reaction, in the sunlight Cosmos Blue really does look incredible. With a great history and fresh from a 12k service and a fresh clutch kit at Str8six – this car is as good as a T350C gets. The 3.6 engine runs like a sewing machine, so smooth and responsive and doesn’t lack punch in the straights either. Cornering is fabulous and the car is very nicely controlled on the nearly new Protech dampers, a car that’s hard to find fault with.
This car has decent paintwork throughout, all bar a few stone chips commensurate with age on the front end, with no spider cracking to be seen on the body. The interior is a wonderful place to be and is also in great all-round condition, the comfortable seats hugging you in just the right way, so that you can press on without sliding around. The original radio is available and with the car.
These cars were made in very limited numbers (only 450 T350s were ever built) which ensures it will always be a very special sight wherever you take it. They are a safe place to keep your money and a way to enjoy them too.
On the road these cars are seriously quick, pestering modern £100k plus machinery in the corners and thanks to their light weight, on the straights too!
With its short overhangs, short wheelbase, lightweight and stiffened chassis the T350 was every bit the driver’s car. The 343bhp from TVRs own thumping Speed Six engine propels the T with alacrity, cornering speeds are just as impressive – none of the fabled handling woes to be seen here, just a quintessential small numbers British sports car, but without the standard parts bin interior, engine or switch gear. These really are a bespoke, handmade British supercar that not only look, sound and go brilliantly, but are from my book, hugely undervalued considering their rarity and competence.
Clicking gears through the tough as nails T5 box, staring at the custom binnacle and using the factory fitted pedal box, you know immediately that you’re in a special car, just wait until you’re on the open road.
Here’s a review from the period from a well-known chap, ...
“By some considerable margin, this is the best TVR I’ve ever driven. With its integral roll-cage it feels stiffer and more together, like all four corners are working in harmony, rather than in discord. And the brakes are just astonishing. So’s the power. You may only get 3.6 litres and no forced induction, but you end up with a better power-to-weight ratio than you get from a Lamborghini Murciélago. That means it is seriously, properly, eye-poppingly fast - Jeremy Clarkson
Technical specification
With a fully documented history file, the car has had a lot of the bucket list items dealt with already, shock absorbers, a newly fitted alloy radiator, diff bushes, clutch and slave, starter motor and engine mounts already taken care of, there’s not a lot left to do but go and enjoy the car. A well stamped original service book and two keys accompany the history file too. The chassis has been well waxoyled from new and has been kept on top of, so it is in absolutely fine fettle.
Only offered for sale to make room for the incoming new car, a fabulous machine all round that will be excellent fun for years to come. All in all, a cracking car, well cared for, that wants for nothing, a rarity in the TVR world.
Why not get in touch to see just why these exact cars pulled on my heartstrings so well, that it has started a lifetime love of all things TVR, the best cars, the best people, the best club and the biggest grins, come and see for yourself!
