Description
It isn’t often we use the phrase, the pictures don’t do the car justice, but on this occasion I will. Being completely fresh in all manners, it really is stunning and out in the light of day, it is simply beautiful to behold. A classic racing style paint scheme really sets off the car’s intentions.
Step inside the car and turn the key and you’ll be met with a very purposeful 1970’s bark from the heavily breathed on 1,700cc Ford crossflow unit, breathing through twin Weber 40’s and a full stainless exhaust system. Producing a punchy 135bhp, it goes just as well as it looks, seeing as it only has 737kg to move along, it really can keep up with modern cars with ease.
With no stone unturned in its restoration, the steering, suspension and drivetrain are all as smooth as if you had bought the car from the factory. In fact, with the roll-cage added, there is less body flex and more support mid corner. No squeaks, rattles or odd noises either, it really is a fabulous finish and generates as many smiles from those that see it as you have in the driver’s seat.
What a fabulous little car. The TVRCC is a fabulous thing and I’m sure this would make someone the perfect entry to the “silly grin club” of TVR ownership. What’s not to like!?
Technical specification
First registered on the 1st April 1971. This stunning example has just completed a year-long total nut and bolt restoration, with plenty of upgrades along the way. The car was totally stripped and the body shell removed from the chassis, to make sure that all of the hard-to-reach areas received the due care and attention needed.
The chassis has been shot blasted, the out riggers replaced and powder coated in light grey. The body shell paint was removed and professionally resprayed by local TVR specialist Painting Classic Cars.
Testament to the caring ownership, the car was completely rebuilt with no expense spared on any component and the results we think speak for themselves!
